So, I gave up. Not surprising. After spending weeks @ mom’s for Christmas, I was back up to 250. And by ‘back up to’, I mean I had only been there before at like … 8 and 9 months pregnant. I think I weighted 280 when I went in to get induced.
Nice.
So a week and a half ago, I started on The South Beach Diet. So far it hasn’t been that bad. I just NEED to stick with it! Summer will be here in a blink. Not that I’ll be water parking it this summer, but still. Those size 18 jeans would be really nice.

Still holding at 240, but I’m ok with that since we went to my mother-in-law’s for the 4th,and although she weighs 90 pounds and doesn’t eat, she feeds me like I’m a starving ethiopian child every time we go in.
After our first hour there, she ‘broke out’ her prepared stash from the fridge- bologna and colby cheese, white bread, chicken salad, pasta salad, potato salad, fruit salad, fruit dip, dill dip, crap dip, crackers, cheese blocks, veggie tray, veggie dip, croissants, german chocolate cake and a berry pie. She lays everything out on their kitchen island, and we pull up bar stools and eat.
Within an hour there were 100+ ants swarming up from the floor ac vent next to the trash can. Case in point that the woman never eats. If she did she would have noticed the ant problem before this. My husband made her promise to make a doctor’s appointment … we are both worried about her health. Weight in particular, but of course she’s consuming literally no calcium and loads of caffine.
Anyways, 18 days until vacation, and I’m miles from fitting into the any of the 12 pairs of size 18 jeans. I may have to order a size 20 online and have it just in case… I can always return it if I can wear my 18’s for the trip. Lord help me.

2 pounds flew off on day one, however I was famished yesterday.
1 egg, 1 ww toast
1 cup low fat yogurt
1/2 pb/banana sammy
healthy choice chicken/veg
no sugar rice pudding cup
lemonade edy’s popsicle
burger and fries- what?!
salad for dessert after I got home from work- phew
Today- still 240
I bowl cereal w/ frozen blueberries- blue milk- interesting but tasted good.
1 large flat hamburger in skillet with ketchup
some ziti with cheese- carb cravings overtook me already on day 3
Hubby got a raise, so he’s insisting chinese buffet for dinner, dangit.

I was going to journal this healthy eating/moving adventure, but since I’m faster at typing, I thought I’d blog it.
I’m starting out today at 242. The baby will be six months old on Thursday, and I’m 16 pounds above my pre-pregnancy weight … not that 226 is anything to brag about. My short-term goal is to fit into any one of my 12 pairs of size 18 jeans by the time we fly to Seattle in a month. My long term goal is to get back into the 100’s which at some point standing on the scale in my parent’s bedroom I promised myself I’d never get OUT of in the first place.
I did dance dance revolution this morning, half alone, and half holding/rocking the baby. I feel good so far- my plan is to eat many small meals, and stay away from sugar, limit carbs.
